Laser Tattoo Removal
Everybody seems to have a tattoo that they don’t really want anymore. So how do you get rid of them besides covering them up with another tattoo you don’t want? Laser Tattoo removal is the answer! I have researched different ways to get rid of tattoos for years! There are tons of different things out there that promise it’ll get rid of your tattoo. Things such as creams, laser devices to use at home, etc. Here’s the run down, creams just don’t work! As much as I wish it was that easy it’s not. As far as these laser devices you can use at home, just don’t! You can seriously burn and scar yourself which can’t be undone! So just don’t! Getting them removed by a laser by a professional in their office is the only way to go!
When were young we get tattoos done that we think were going to love and want on us forever but that’s just not the case. As we get older, we change. So something we thought we wanted on us at sixteen, we don’t really like anymore when were thirty. Maybe you got a tattoo done in someones basement or in a crappy tattoo salon and it just looks horrible. The point is you need to do your research on tattoos before you get them done. Research every tattoo parlor by you. Look at their art they have done. Ask them to draw it up and make sure it’s what you want. Tell them if you want something changed! Don’t be scared to speak up! This is something that is permanent. I’m here to tell you that if you want an actual piece of art on you, it’s going to be expensive! So if your paying a cheep price for a tattoo, then your more than likely going to get a crappy cheep tattoo. If I could give anyone advice about tattoos is to wait until your at least 25 or 30 years old so you know your actually going to want it on you forever!
Tattoos were completely permanent until laser tattoo removal came out! When you get a tattoo done the ink seeps deep into your skin. Your body sees it as a foreign object and is actually trying to constantly get rid of it. Your immune system kicks in just like it would with any scrape or cut. There are many parts to your immune system that is trying to extract the foreign object (tattoo). If you would like to read more about how the immune system works on tattoos you can read more about it HERE. But your body’s immune system just can’t physically get rid of it or heal it so to say by it’s self. Your body just recognizes the tattoo as an object it can’t get rid of and contains it. For the most part, tattoo ink is engulfed (skin or immune cells) and then kind of sticks around in the dermis layer of the skin.
The laser tattoo removal process is actually pretty cool if your into science! So I find it really interesting! It is not a one day process thing, it takes time and commitment. It’s normally several months before complete removal takes place. During the process it is not a constant beam of light, the lasers produce pulses of light energy. Each pulse of energy penetrates the skin and is absorbed by the tattoo ink. As the tattoo ink particles absorb the energy, they heat up and then shatter into tiny fragments. Then, over the weeks following treatment, the body’s immune system flushes the tattoo ink particles away from the location, lightening the appearance of the tattoo. Its recommended to drink lots of water during treatments so your body can flush out the tattoo ink particles easier. When a tattoo is applied, the ink is injected at different depths within the dermis. As the laser light is applied to the skin, the shallowest layers of ink in the dermis absorb the energy and shatter, but the deeper layers may not have been affected. Only once the body flushes away the top layers of ink, then the deeper layers be treated. Each laser treatment breaks down more and more of the tattoo ink until none remains.
From my experience, getting a tattoo really hurts in certain spots! It takes really long also depending on how big of a tattoo you get. The removal process is completely different from getting a tattoo! They can not be compared at all because it’s a completely different feeling all together. The laser removal is much faster so that’s a plus and they give you numbing cream to put on an hour before you come to your appointment which is also a plus because then you don’t feel it as much. They also have a hose that is constantly blowing super cold air onto your skin so that your skin stays cold and doesn’t feel hot. Plus it helps you not feel it as much too! Feeling the laser on color doesn’t hurt as bad, it’s the black that hurts! It kind of feels like your constantly getting zapped by a very hot electrical shock. There was some points where I didn’t feel anything also. I think it really just depends on your personal pain tolerance. They give you absolutely everything you will need as far as the next day processes and numbing cream for your next appointment.
I can’t give you an amount of how much it will cost for you if you want a tattoo removed because there are many things that play a factor in your tattoo removal price. Such as how big it is, the colors, scaring, etc. So if your wanting to know how much it will cost you then you can get a free consultation done at a laser tattoo removal near you. The only place that I can suggest and speak for their professionalism is where I went to get mine done. Invisible Ink is just like a doctor’s office, very clean, and professional! I honestly have nothing bad to say about my experience. They made me feel comfortable and made sure all my questions were answered. You can check to see if there is one near you HERE.
I am so happy to finally be able to get these tattoos off of me after almost ten years! For me it wasn’t just a crappy tattoo. It was remembering my past every time I looked at them. It was a self image issue that I didn’t even want to wear short sleeves anymore because then I couldn’t cover them up. To say the least, it was a long time coming! I took a video of my first treatment process so you can kinda see how it works, how fast it is and easy! I will document each time I go in and add the videos here so you can see the complete process over the next several months.
I hope this helps you make your decision on weather you want to keep your crappy mistake of a tattoo or get rid of it. To me it’s worth it to finally be rid of these memories!
